Kaya GÖNENÇER

Co-Founder

I was born in 1969 in Wuppertal into a German-Turkish family and grew up in Berlin. After an exchange year in the US and after completing my A-levels, I studied law in Berlin, Passau and Kiel and obtained my legal clerkship in Berlin, Speyer (University of Administrative Sciences) and Paris.

Being a qualified lawyer and international consultant in Berlin (and temporarily also in Paris), I work for various international clients in positions in Berlin, Paris and Istanbul, in the fields of corporate and commercial law, banking & finance, media law as well as construction and energy law. Work included projects in Germany, France, Switzerland, Turkey, the Middle East and Africa. I successfully negotiated with heads of state, governments and authorities on major infrastructure projects (e.g., building hydropower plants).

With my work in various functions as managing partner of my law firm as well as co-founder, chairman and member of the board, CEO and legal advisor of various commercial enterprises as well as my voluntary work in numerous non-governmental organizations and associations, I bring both legal and entrepreneurial competence as well as more than 20 years of experience in international business coupled with my passion for people, cultures and languages.

My interest in future-relevant topics (energy, water, environmental protection, AI and automation and new media) as well as social commitment and, last but not least, the desire to learn new things and to grow with new business challenges, brought me together with my current co-founders.

The joint establishment of a company and our commitment in the field of green hydrogen are more than just a business idea for me. They are an expression of my conviction to take on social responsibility and to actively contribute to the “energy transition” in order to create a better future for us and our children.
